In ancient times, the practice of cupping therapy looked very different, yet the effects remain the same in modern day time.

In a Therapeutic Bodywork Session with Corynne, Modern Cupping Therapy techniques may be applied, depending on your own individual requirements.

The benefits of Modern Cupping Therapy are numerous! Aside from the muscular benefits such as reduced pain, relief from tight spots and improved circulation, I have observed significant benefits on other body systems. Gastrointestinal cupping has helped my clients with constipation and digestive sluggishness. The skin, nervous system, and liver function also benefit from cupping. I love letting the cups do their work while I continue to address other areas of the body too. This multi-tasking means an even more effective and efficient outcomes for you from your session!

Scar Tissue Release: One benefit of cupping therapy that I really get excited about is scar tissue release. Why? When we have a scar, the fibres that form during the scarring process can run deep. Like jellyfish tentacles, we end up having these extra threads that cause a change in mobility of tissue at even the most basic level. Any change in structure will change function, which is why this excites me so much.

According to one client, he experienced a 50-60% reduction in pain after I applied cupping for scar tissue. His scar was from a laminectomy many many years before. His symptoms were shooting, nerve like pains in a line similar to sciatic pain. The scar fibers had infiltrated deep to the soft tissue under the scar and were affecting the nerves. One session changed his pain levels significantly. I don’t expect this kind of major result in every case, however, this was certainly an exciting discovery for both he and I!!
