I’m Corynne. Not Corn, or Corny, or Karen or Cory-anne as some people’s eyes read it. Just Core-rin. Personally, I LOVE the way the French say my name. They say it better than me. My mum liked to think outside the box, hence my name was awarded a funky spelling and an awkward selection of potential nick-names.

I’m Australian born, so I am going to use the ‘U’ version of Mum. I’m a mum. A wife. A Massage Therapist. A Naturopath by education and at heart. An only child. A surfer. An entrepreneur. A chocolate lover. A life-long learner. And a traveler. That’s the short list.

This July of 2020, our family is leaving home to go walkabout (you can take the Aussie out of Australia, but not Australia out of the Aussie!). It’s a big year. I’ll be 40, my husband will be 50 and our son will turn 12. It’s our 15th wedding anniversary this year too! Edit- COVID-19 happened. Things didn’t go exactly to plan!!!

We live in Costa Rica. It has been home to us for over 16 years. Our son was born here, making him a Costa Rican citizen as well as Aussie and US. He has no idea what that means in terms of opportunities and door openings in life. Maybe through our travels, he will begin to get an idea of this.

Life is good here- we have a great circle of friends, a beautiful community, a wonderful school, amazing healers (my friends are chiropractors, dentists, acupuncturists, massage therapists, Reiki masters, yoga teachers) and, year-round consistent surf!

Life here is comfortable, but a little bug has been gnawing in my ear saying that it is time to reach for new horizons, to see new places, to learn new languages, to experience new cultures, and of course, to surf new waves. It really isn’t easy, leaving home. Easy would be staying put. Easy would be continuing life the way it is and not rocking the boat. We don’t GROW through easy. It is time to sprout.

We don’t grow when things are easy; we grow when we face challenges- Joyce Meyer

This blog will serve as a record of my experiences, as I travel within (reflections, introspection) and travel without (extrospective). My intention is to inspire you to fulfill your highest potential, to live your fullest life, your healthiest life, and to follow your dreams. I hope that by sharing my journey, you will see how possible it really is!
