My favorite refillable water bottle is stainless steel, insulated and 1 liter or 32 oz sized.

Remember to wash out your bottle regularly. You can get pretty sick if you forget to clean your bottle!

Without a doubt, the no-brainer way to minimize your impact on the environment, ladies! Diva Cup is one of several brands of menstrual cups on the market. Others are MeLuna and Lena but I only have experience with the Diva Cup. I wish I knew about this as a teenager!

Check out Diva Cup here!

Light-weight and quick-drying means less water consumption in the laundry. Take your own towel and avoid single-use then wash, which happens when you stay just one night or two in a hotel.

Never buy a box of Q-tips again! Just think of those skinny little pieces of plastic ending up in a turtle’s nose and you’ll know you have made the right choice! Thank you!

LastSwab can be washed in hot soapy water and reused again and again.

It is true that these toothbrushes tend to wear out faster than plastic ones, but you aren’t adding a swath of plastic to landfill. Wood will decompose and your impact minimized.

Check out Bamboo toothbrushes here.

Sold in a glass container, by subscription if you prefer, toothpaste tablets are easy to use, zero mess and come without the ubiquitous plastic single use tube we all know too well! Some companies are now offering toothpaste in a jar too.

Basically dehydrated shampoo! Using a shampoo bar saves space, but also is a travel-without-plastic solution.

Increase awareness at the employee level, by whipping out your own stainless or reusable straw at the bar or restaurant next time. Little by little we can change big habits.

Make some space in your luggage for a compact solution to take-out containers. When you order your food to-go, give them your own container, and even better BYO utensils too!

Thank you

for taking the time to consider the small changes you can make to ease the strain on our planet!
